1/2013 – Erin gets a job
Erin Hamilton, an undergraduate research assistant in the lab, landed a full time job as an ecologist with Ground Level out of Bartow, FL. Congrats Erin!

10/2012 – Galapagos research trip
Luke is just back from the Galapagos where he saw lots of interesting endemic plants - and significant invasive plant problems. He planned and started to establish two research projects with Gonzalo Rivas, a PhD candidate in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation.

8/2012 – New lab members Chris Wilson and Bryan Tarbox
Chris and Bryan joined the lab this fall as PhD students. Chris is in the Interdisciplinary Ecology program and Bryan is in the Agronomy Department - both received full University Fellowships!

Katie is an undergraduate who will be working on allelopathy as a mechanism for the invasive success Brazilian pepper. She was selected as a 2012-2013 University Scholar!

In our paper that just came online in Ecosphere we show that the accumulation of pathogens on invasive Microstegium can have significant ecological consequences.

10/2011 – China Expedition
Luke is just back from a trip with Ari Novy (Rutgers Univ) and Shenglan Zeng (Fudan Univ) to Shanghai, Wuhan, and Beijing China. We collected samples for a Microstegium pop gen study, gave presentations, and saw some great sites.
